What to inspect when PPE alerts are noisy

Review the image first

Small or occluded helmets can be difficult to distinguish. Check the number of visible pixels and motion blur in the actual inference stream.

Inspect the zone and schedule

An alert outside a required-PPE zone may be correct visually but irrelevant operationally. Match rules to the work area and applicable shift.

Measure the tradeoff

Raising a threshold can reduce alerts while missing true exceptions. Review false positives and false negatives together using a labeled, representative sample.
